Blog - World Building

While I posted a while ago about the importance of keeping track of your worldbuilding in a sensible way, I confess I've been doing exactly the opposite here - just posting and trusting to my brain to remember things. However, the steady stream of 5am starts and long days this semester has rather diminished my ability to remember what the hell I'm talking about at any one time, so I thought it'd be a good idea to actually map out what I've been doing...

I'm not at home, and I don't have access to the software I'd typically use for this, so I've roughed a quick-and-dirty version with a free online tool called MindMeister. It's quite reasonable, if a little slow at points, and lets me connect branches together (although you can't move the connections around, so it for a real worldbuilding map it's going to get nigh-unreadable very quickly. There are plenty of other free online mindmapping tools, this was just the first one I came across that did what I wanted, more or less - I would like to be able to put comments on the connections, but it's an okay start.

So - a map of what we've covered so far. It looks depressingly small once it's abbreviated like that, but ah well. Click to embiggen.
